Summer Camp Program

To qualify* you must:

• Be an adult caring for dependent children ages 5-12

• Be actively involved in either job training, vocational training, GED, technical school, college

(full or part-time) or employed working at least 15 hours per week or more

• If employed, have total family income fall within the income guidelines* See Below

(i.e. A family of four must earn $58,460 in annual income or less to qualify)

• Select a Summer Camp program licensed or exempt summer camp provider

(Exempt Summer Camp Providers must either have a letter of exemption from Department

Early Care And Learning-DECAL or do not have to meet exemption requirements because

they are considered a government entity)

	Temporary Child Care Assistance (TCCA) - The federal government has awarded states funding for child care. The funding is to assist those impacted by the recession, so that they can upgrade their education/training or participate in job readiness training while they are un/underemployed and improve their current economic situation. The state plan is primarily based on providing time limited child care to a new target group - parent engaged in approved post secondary education, vocational training, job readiness training or underemployed (working at least 15 hours but no more than 23 hours.). 	The Summer Camp Program - The Summer Camp Program will provide assistance with the cost of care for children ages 5-12 (or through age 17 if there are documented special needs) who are attending an authorized summer camp between May 21 - August 9, 2010. In order to qualify for the Summer Camp Program, you must: attend college, a vocational/technical school, or be working at least 15 hours per week or more and meet certain income requirements. There are no fees or co-pays. Applications must be received no later than May 15, 2010. Click here for more information
